Organization of hackathon/ideathon to connect cultural and tech sectors in Ukraine, to generate digital solutions for cultural and creative sectors affected during COVID crisis
The event reached record-breaking numbers in terms of projects and participants in Ukraine over the last 5 years. 

1300 participants on-boarded to digital platforms and worked online on their projects, which were further implemented and funded by partners.

Our challenges

COVID-19 put culture sector in deep crisis, with millions of artists struggling to maintain their livelihoods. To respond to the challenges, Goethe-Institut Ukraine and the House of Europe called for collective action to ideate solutions to support the cultural scene in Ukraine
To unite cross-sector expertise and ideate solutions on supporting creative sector in lockdowns
To create and facilitate a new online format of "hackathon" for cultural sector
To come up with online methodology and easy-to-use format for people with different levels of digital literacy
